Where we come from

Built in Christian schools. Useful in any of them.

Oak Hill’s work began in Christian schools and colleges, and a good deal of it still happens there. The method itself has nothing to do with what a school believes — it is about whether a department is built by design or by default.

If your school is mission-driven, we have spent our careers inside that tension: competing hard while answering to a mission bigger than the scoreboard. We know how a statement of faith shapes hiring, how a chapel schedule shapes practice, and how a board asks about both.

If it is not, none of that is imposed on you. The twelve pillars we measure — staffing, funding, communication, facilities, leadership — are the same in every athletic department in the country, and so is the honest read we hand back.

Leading in the church as well as the gym

Andrew has held a dual calling in athletics and local church ministry since 1997. In 2022 he moved from athletic administration to serve as Executive Pastor of Ministries and Leadership Development at Warren Church in Augusta, Georgia, a multi-site church with four campuses serving more than 5,000 people.

Sports ministry at national scale

Before moving into educational leadership at Covenant Day School in Matthews, North Carolina, Mike served as Executive Director of the Charlotte Eagles, an international sports ministry. He has spent close to two decades developing leaders and coaches in the Christian athletic arena.

What Do We Believe?

We understand that “What you BELIEVE, how you BEHAVE, and who you BECOME is ultimately GREATER than what you ACCOMPLISH or ACHIEVE.” We speak from personal experience, the wins and the championships are important, but a healthy team culture and its effects last a lifetime and have an impact on your coaches and student-athletes now and in the future.

What Do We Do?

We offer comprehensive athletic audits and assessments to identify strengths, areas for improvement, potential risks, and opportunities for growth in athletic departments. Beyond assessments, we partner with athletic directors and departments in a strategic journey, providing ongoing support, feedback, and guidance. Our goal is to help athletic programs not only succeed in competition at the highest level but also become leaders in fostering an excellent, enduring culture.

What Does Every Leader Want?

Every athletic program wants to excel, win more games, have the best coaches, best athletes, and become the very best it can be. At Oak Hill Athletic Consulting, we are excited to see your program succeed, compete at the highest level, and become great and it’s our desire to help you get there. We specialize in elevating athletic programs at high schools, colleges, and universities to the highest level. Our approach balances the desire for competitive success and the importance of an impactful and lasting culture within athletic teams.

What Is Most Important?

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that personal development, team culture, and lasting relationships are more significant than just victories and titles. However, we understand that when schools approach athletic excellence, accomplishments and achievements are important both individually and collectively. Oak Hill Athletic Consulting is all about athletic excellence, not just in wins and championships, but by developing an excellent culture within all of their athletic teams.

What Is Our Passion?

We are passionate about seeing organizations that are growing, leading, and innovating. A thriving organization needs to be continually evaluating, receiving feedback, and engaging with its department, teams, and culture.

Our experience has shown that the most cherished memories of athletes are not simply the wins, but rather the experiences, memories, and lifelong leadership development gained through being a part of a team. We truly believe that when team culture and program excellence are the focus, the wins and accomplishments will come.

Our mission is to partner with high schools, colleges, and universities to develop thriving athletic programs characterized by great cultures and competitive excellence.

Our goal is to encourage and compel leaders to fulfill their calling in the athletic arena.

Our vision: compelling leaders, pursuing excellence, transforming athletics.
